Benissa
Benissa COSTA, a green place at the costa blanca
The villa is located in a nice micro-climate in the green hills between Moraira and Calpe.
It's a very residential area, at the borders of a pine forest. Benissa hosts many villas and restaurants, but no hotels, which makes it less crowdy than many other places in peak summer.
You'll find several 'cala' (creeks) and 'playa' (beaches) within a 1-6km range from the villa.
The Sea
Playa Fustera (large picture) is located at 1,3km from the villa, simply taking the small road downhill from the villa straight towards the sea.
Cala Es Pinets is at 1km from the villa, close to Playa Fustera. It's a small creek known for its snorkeling and its 'natural swimming pool' hidden behind the rocks, with a large area of flat shallow water surrounded by rocks. Other nearby creeks are Cala Baladrar (cosy beach bar!), Cala Advocat (garden restaurant Paillotte), Las Basetes (restaurants and terrace right on the shores)
A bit further away you find the large beaches of Calpe (as of 4km), Moraira (6km), El Portet (8km). Our favorite daytrip beach for kids is Playa El Arenal with plenty of restaurants and lounge bars, around 15-20km more north
THE ACTIVITIES
The Benissa area offers a wide range of activities you can do with the family:
- Hiking : the famous Paseo Ecologico coastline trail between Basetes and Cala Baladrar is a must do. Climbing the nearby Ifach rock in the sea at Calpe is also a 'hit'. But also other hiking trails are present close to the villa as well as a little drive away in Bernia Mountains or around Cap Blanc nature reserve. We offer our guests some more detailed descriptions
- Visit the many Miradores, beaches/creeks and Nature Reserve park around Cap Blanc (combination of car and hiking)
- Visit the cosy villages of Moraira and Altea
- Day trip to Valencia, a lively city with great architecture, shopping and gastronomy
- Scenic drive inland (mountains, Castell del Guadelest, small villages, vineyards, waterfalls,...)
- Shopping (Benidorm, Ondarra shopping center, ...)
- Biking : this area is where the professional cyclists prepare their season. You can rent race bikes or mountainbikes and enjoy numerous routes
- Watersports : windsurf, diving, snorkeling, sailing,... (watersports club at 3km)
- Golf : many golf courses, we know about all of them and can advice you
- Tennis club at 2,5km on the hillside
